Would you like to say the Hebrew Blessings?
Well, then, here ya go!
Check out this web site: www.hebrew4christians.com
You'll find Hebrew prayers, benedictions, Scripture passages, some Hebrew
grammar, info on the Jewish holidays, some Jewish jokes, and much more,
including links to other useful sites.
The Aaronic benediction is shown in Hebrew, in English transliteration, and
in English. It even has an audio file so that you can learn to sing it
almost like my friend John Shuffle does!
Some of the other benedictions have audio files as well.
The Amidah is there, too. That's the "Standing" prayer that's prayed by
observant Jews three times each day. This current form is close to that used
in the first century. Yeshua and his followers would have prayed a similar
prayer, and Yeshua probably prayed it during those nights when he went up on
the mountain to be alone with Abba.
The "Model" prayer is here, too--in Hebrew! You know--the one Yeshua taught
his guys to pray when they were in a hurry...
A few of the transliterations reflect a bit of Ashkenazi (European)
pronunciation rather than the Sephardic--but that's easy to correct with a
little help from someone who knows Modern Israeli Hebrew.
The author of this site, John Parsons, writes the Hebrew lessons for Zola
Levit's newsletter.
Enjoy!
